That baby blanket is really pretty- can't wait to see it finished. The local gossip quite a hoot! Like shooting a parked car- lol. Sundogs, brocken Spectres, sun pillars- all amazing phenomena- very nice photos of them.

That's quite a pretty blanket - so much classier than so many others. Your residents are lucky!

Carole

Lovely pattern for the baby blanket. And at least you're on vacation.

Marcy

Lovely knitting, E!

I figured out the hard way years ago that those stinkin' spinning wheels on signs mean antiques, not spinning. Yeesh. And don't expect the antique shops to have good wheels; they hardly ever do. :(

margene

Staying warm by a fire is heaven. I often want to break out my knitting and stay by the fire at Silver Fork. You have captured Utah weather phenomenons very well! It must have been a grand week of skiing.

Cara

Great blanket, great sign (albeit disappointing) and GREAT skies!

Marcia

I LOVE that blanket pattern! I love sundogs, too.

Diane E.

Cool learning the names of the atmospheric optics. We've seen the likes in Wyoming but never knew the terms. Nice blankie.

Anne

Your WIPs list isn't too bad - and it looks like you are making lots of progress on the baby blanket. If you get a chance to go back to VT for the arts open house tour around Memorial Day, that's a whole lotta fun (and less misleading than the spinning wheel icon on the highway signage). They'll even send you a map.

Cathy

Great skies!

Rachel H

Beautiful blanket and skies. And that shot of knitting by the fireplace makes me want to stay home by mine all day and do the same. Sigh.

June

Marcy is right - I also remember seeing such spinning wheel signage and being quite excited and then dissapointed.

Kathy

Sounds like you guys are keeping busy and relaxing. I love the blanket!

naomi

Have you been up there in the summer? My annual blueberry-picking is on the other side of that hill, where the Forest Service maintains a blueberry area.

Martha

Oh, you're up at Blueberry Hill again! Lucky you. Hope you get some snow while you're there...

claudia

Ooooo. Utah ski slopes....

Cheryl

I've never heard of Sundogs! let alone seen them. Pretty cool. Looks like you're making the most of your vacation.

Lucia

Beautiful blanket and skies, and those sundogs are amazing. Yet another reason to try to get to Utah someday.

Sylvia

Shooting the moose is easy. Getting it home and cut and wrapped is a true chore!

We get sundogs on the horizon here pretty often, but they lack that je ne sais quois that the snow imparts. What I really miss? The northern lights...

Lorette

That's just plain mean, giving you a sign like that.
Moon dogs are my favorite light spectres. Your photos are amazing.

Kim

Oh, that blanket is so beautiful. I want to make one too! Try going by Harrisville Designs in NH - they're very nice people. It's in Harrisville, NH, near Peterborough.

Norma

Ummmm, the spinning wheel signifies "antiques." I know. Stupid. But that's that. :)

Scoutj

Wait. Where in Mid-VT? I'm from theyah!

I got the BFL in!!!

Cassie

I'm so ... PROUD of your non-blue knitting. Irrationally so.

Kim

Beautiful pictures! I saw that sign and thought to myself....hey, that looks like one of our signs...LOL.

I LOVE the gold yarn! One of my most favorite colors!
