Carole

You're still cool, babe.

margene

I love Beethoven, Vivaldi, Stevie Miller,Rachmaninov, Laura Nyro, even Sorcerer's Apprentice, and the Koln Concerts, too. The others....not so much. Nice variety!

Lee Ann

Ah, Laura Nyro. Somehow it does not surprise me that you know her music, and I know very few people who do (or very few who know that the songs they love come from her).

"My Innocence" was on a comfort mix the last time I had to have surgery before this big one, five years ago, from a man I nearly married. I still love that song, passionately. Thanks for reminding me of it, and of the comfort it gave me.

Hmmm, I'm going to have to think about this one a bit.

I'll try it tomorrow or Friday.

Marcia

I think the Grieg Piano Concerto is my single favorite piece of music. I gave up piano when the reality hit that I would never ever in a million years be able to play that sucker!

Sylvia

I'm not at all surprised that your list is, um, varied. No Brahms?

My list would be a mix of Elvis, Cash, Purcell, Shostakovich, Hendrix, and everything in between! The curse of the music major... How about eight bars each of a hundred pieces instead???

maryse

hmmm i'll need to think about this one. i listen to music but i don't always pay attention to what i listen to.

by the way, i think "dust in the wind" was by kansas.

Karin

I love Foreigner, but I believe Kansas performed Dust in the Wind --

Cindy D

Quite an eclectic collection Ms. Etherknitter :). Say that 5 times quickly!!!

lisa Co. Springs

Your taste is very eclectic----like mine. I'll have to check in on Lorette :)

Catherine

If you'd like to come visit Colorado Springs, Orion Weiss will be joining the Philharmonic to play the Grieg concerto on our brand new Steinway on the 21st and 22nd. I could move the spinning wheel and bags of wool out of the guest room for ya!

Marcia

Dust in the Wind by a Kansan Foreigner always reminds me of my first year away at college. I drove home most weekends to see a boyfriend who was attending community college and was also an asshole.

The travelling was pretty chaotic, as I had to park my car miles from the dorm, and find rides to and from the car. I mostly made the trips for him, so he could feel secure. (I was 19)

Invariably, Dust in the Wind would play on the Sunday drive back. Invariably I'd cry because I had grown to hate the lifestyle and my cowardice.

The following fall he enrolled at my college and was assigned to my dorm. I dumped him a couple of weeks before Christmas.

Dust this, asshole.

Lorette

Very eclectic, indeed. The Koln Concert is one of my favorites of all time.
